Draft 3-year Strategic Plan
Vision
Our vision is to be at the heart of Castleton University's campus, playing an integral role in the intellectual and academic life of our community, collaboratively fostering information literacy, and offering valued and effective library services in an inclusive and inviting space.
Strategic Goals

#3 | Not a lot - I love the lending library kiosk gift from one of the classes by the campus center. access to current & relevant support to research | not sure seems pretty strong | Campus Center Tabling - Tuesday April 18

I like the access to current and relevant collections the most. I think it's important to stay up to date esp. in education and nursing research. | Clarification on what user-centered library spaces are. | More of an explanation on some of the goals. | Student | Online Survey |

I like the plan a lot. Good plan. Great plan. I like how it encourages more interactions. | Geniune friendship between librarians and students. | Good stuff! | Campus Center Tabling - Tuesday April 18
I prefer to be alone when I study at the library so anything that promotes student-faculty interactions I frown upon. | Anything to accommodate hunger in the library. | Please leave me alone in the library. | Campus Center Tabling - Thursday April 20
I think its a great plan. Well thought out and thouroughly devised agenda for success and student prosperity, enabling productivity. | More student interaction | cease the means of production | Campus Center Tabling - Thursday April 20
I think that the plan is beneficial to the students | Need more sneks | Good job! | Campus Center Tabling - Tuesday April 18
idk | idk | more snacks | Campus Center Tabling - Thursday April 20
Investing in more user-centered library spaces. There needs to be more accomodations for students in the libraries. | There should be food options in the library, like a mini-cafe people can get food at because they aren't going to want to talk to Fireside and go back to the library. | Campus Center Tabling - Tuesday April 18
It seems to cover all the bases: that is, the purposes of an academic library. | Specifics. For example, what makes a space user-centered? | I'll be able to provide more feedback once the plan includes more concrete objectives. | Faculty | Online Survey |
It's clear and compelling. | Nothing comes to mind. | Is the order of "research, teaching and learning, and civic engagement" intentional? Or, put another way, would listing teaching and learning before research be preferable as a way to indicate teaching and learning as a priority that comes before research? | Staff | Online Survey |
It's fun to work there :) | nothing | Campus Center Tabling - Thursday April 20
It's short, so it can easily be remembered by your staff. | It would help me if you had concrete examples for each goal. The examples wouldn't get published in your final version of the document, but would help me better understand each goal. | Post the final version in prominent places around the library and online with concrete examples of how they are being met and when. For example, when a new user-centered space is installed, post information about where it is, maybe a photo, what the purpose is, and when it was installed. | Staff | Online Survey |
It's very inclusive and education/research oriented for both faculty and students. | You should consider bringing in authors to talk about their books and works to maybe try and get college students more interested in reading. I know students don't really have free time to read on their own but I know people who have never checked out books. | Library visits should only be done during FYS class times or during a transfer student's orientation. I'm a sophomore and have been in 4 classes now that have taken visits to the library and learn how to use the search engines and everything. It's great material but I wish I didn't have to do it that many times. | Student | Online Survey |
