Technology Available in the Library

Technology and Equipment

  • 36 PCs and 10 Macs with Microsoft Office and Internet access are available for public use - students and those doing academic research have preference.  See our software list.
  • Two video carrels are available for in-library viewing of videos on DVD and BluRay. Necessary keys/headphones/remote controls to access the carrels are available for checkout at the Circulation Desk.
  • Headphones are available for in-library use at the Circulation Desk.
  • One microfiche and microfilm reader is available - printing from the reader costs 10 cents per page (coins only).
  • We do not have a typewriter.

Printing and Copying

  • Printing is free for all library patrons but is only available from library computers (print jobs can not be sent from personal devices).
  • Copying is free for students, faculty and staff from both copiers - users must log in to the copiers with a Portal username and password. The copier near the Reference Desk is limited to one copy at a time - the copier near the library's instruction space can make multiple copies.
  • Only black and white printing and copying is offered in the library. Color printing is available for students in Stafford 156 and Stafford 159. (These computer classrooms can be used by students when not in use for classes.)
  • Members of the public may use the copier located near the library's instruction space, but they must be logged in by a library staff member to make copies. Copies for members of the public are 10 cents per page, payable in cash at the Circulation Desk. Members of the public should see the Circulation Desk for assistance using the copier.
  • Scan to email is free for all library patrons and is available at both copiers. No login is required.
  • Faxing is free for students, faculty and staff from the copier located near the library&'s instruction space. Faxing for members of the public costs $2 per fax, payable in cash at the Circulation Desk. Members of the public should see the Circulation Desk for assistance faxing.

Campus Computers

Computers and printers are available in SAC 159, 157, and 156 as early as 7:00 am, when not in use for classes or events, and many students have access to printers in academic department computer labs/lounges outside of library hours, including:

  • The Piano Lab in FAC
  • Communications and Modern Foreign Language on the bottom floor of Leavenworth
  • Sociology on the top floor of Leavenworth
  • Woodruff 225
  • Academic Support Center in Babcock
  • Glenbrook Stage
